2020.12.10. / Partial Amendments to the Plant Variety Protection and Seed Act

On December 2, 2020, the revised Plant Variety Protection and Seed Act was passed and enacted by the plenary session of the House of Councillors.
It will go into effect from April 2021.

In response to the increasing number of cases of domestically developed brand-name fruits and other seeds and seedlings being leaked abroad and produced in third countries without permission, the amendment was made with the aim of more effectively protecting new varieties.
