2022.6.16. ／ Japan Patent Office accepts applications for foreign filing fee subsidies for start-up companies.

On June 6, 2022, the JPO began accepting applications for subsidizing a portion of the filing fees for overseas applications for cutting-edge technologies that are planned to be commercialized in startups and for which the percentage of overseas patent applications is low.

By subsidizing application fees to overseas patent offices, translation costs, and the costs of domestic and local agents for overseas applications, the program aims to promote the acquisition of overseas rights necessary for the commercialization of cutting-edge technologies.
Applications will be accepted until Friday, July 8, 2022.
