2022.11.18. ／ Japan-Brazil Patent Prosecution Highway to be Extended

On October 26, 2022, the JPO announced that the Patent Prosecution Highway Program with the Brazilian Industrial Property Office will be extended until November 30, 2026.
The program is expected to be extended as necessary after 2026.

As for the status of PPH applications in 2022, the cap for both regular PPH (700 applications per year) and PCT-PPH (100 applications per year) has been reached and the acceptance of applications has been suspended.
