2021.9.18. ／ Act for Partial Revision of the Patent Act, etc. enacted.

On September 14, 2021, the 204th ordinary Diet session enacted the "Act for Partial Revision of the Patent Act, etc.".
In the future, the procedures will be improved in response to digitization.
The main decisions were as follows.

・Development of digitization and other procedures in response to the spread of COVID-19
・Review of rights protection in response to changes in corporate behavior due to progress in digitalization, etc.
・Strengthen the foundations of the IP system, including review of litigation procedures and fee structure

The effective date is from October 1, 2011 to April 1, 2022.
