2021.11.16. / Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement to enter into force on January 1, 2021.

The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, involving 15 countries including Japan, China, Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and Australia, will enter into force on January 1, 2022.
The agreement will simplify and make transparent the procedures for obtaining patent and trademark rights, strengthen the protection of trademarks and other intellectual property rights, and prohibit the forced transfer of technology.

The members of the agreement are the 10 ASEAN member countries and the five non-ASEAN member countries of Australia, China, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand.
