2022.4.20. ／ Announcement on The Handling of Procedures for Those Affected by The Situation in Ukraine

On April 4, 2022, the JPO announced that applicants who were affected by the situation in Ukraine and were unable to complete the procedures within the designated time period will be allowed to submit their applications for design and trademark examination after the deadline has passed.

There are two types of procedures where relief is granted within 14 days of the availability of the procedure and within two months of the procedure.
In the patent examination, the examiner will again issue a notice of reasons for refusal or take other actions to remedy the situation in principle.
