Overview of Patent System in Japan

On July 5, 2022, the JPO announced that it will begin prepayment using Internet application software in January 2023.
This will allow for online procedures from deposit to the submission of prepayment forms.

After a certain period of time after the start of this system, prepayment deposits by patent stamps are scheduled to be abolished.
Future means of payment into the prepayment will be "cash payment" and "electronic cash".
