2023.2.13. / Okazaki City to change the name of the town to support the GI system review of "Hatcho Miso".

Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture, has changed the site of a long-established miso manufacturer that is part of the current "Hatcho-cho" to "Hatcho-cho" effective December 26, 2022.
As a result, the location of the relevant company reverted to "Haccho," which was the name of the place before it was renamed in the Meiji era.

Two long-established companies that have been in business since the early Edo period had been excluded from the Geographical Indications (GI) protection system for their "Hatcho Miso".
Therefore, Okazaki City showed its support for these two companies, and this amendment was made
