2023.4.17. / Japan Patent Office Ends Treatment of Cases Affected by Covid-19

On April 7, 2023, the JPO announced that it will end its handling of new coronavirus (COVID-19) infections as they will be moved to category 5 infections effective May 8, 2023.
Accordingly, the operation of the existing remedial measures will be restored.

The application of the requirements of the existing remedy will apply to those whose last day of the procedural period is on or after May 9, 2023.
