On December 11, 2023, the Japan Patent Office announced that it will hold a nationwide briefing session on the "Law for Partial Amendment of the Unfair Competition Prevention Law, etc.".

Focus will be given on amendments to the Unfair Competition Prevention Law, Patent, Utility Model, Trademark, Design, and Industrial Property Special Provisions Law.

In addition, the patent application closed system, which is scheduled to start operating in the spring of 2024, will also be discussed.
