On August 21, 2024, Nara City sent out a proposal to use as a trademark the pattern on a bronze mirror with a da-ryu pattern shield shape excavated from the Tomio Maruyama Tumulus in Nara City, which was registered as a trademark on March 14 of this year. A da-ryu is a Chinese imaginary beast similar to a crocodile.
Anyone can utilize the trademark, create and sell products as long as they observe the precautions for use.

Nara City is taking measures to prevent the pattern of the da-ryu pattern shield-shaped bronze mirror from being registered and used as a trademark by a specific vendor first, and expects it to be widely used by the public as a symbol of Nara City.
