2023.2.13. / Hydrogen-related patents, Japan tops the list.

On January 10, 2023, the European Patent Office (EPO) and the International Energy Agency (IEA) published a joint report on the status of hydrogen-related patent applications worldwide.
According to the report, Japan was found to be the top applicant for patents in the 10-year period from 2011 to 2020, accounting for 24% of the total number of patent applications.

The figures show that Japan has an international advantage in clean energy technology using hydrogen.
The United States comes in second (20%) and Germany third (11%).
