Commissioner Hamano and Patent Engineer Katsura from the Japan Patent Office attended the 64th General Assembly of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization held in Geneva, Switzerland, from July.
Secretary Hamano delivered a general speech on behalf of Japan, introducing Japan's international efforts in the field of intellectual property.
In addition, meetings were held with patent offices and other organizations from more than 20 countries and regions in conjunction with the General Assembly to confirm continued cooperative relations in the future.
The G7 countries were asked to cooperate in the G7 IP Agency Director-General Level Meeting scheduled to be held in December this year, which Japan will host.
